The Classics Spin #33
Time for a new spin!
At your blog, before Sunday, March 19, create a post to list your choice of any twenty books that remain “to be read” on your Classics Club list.
On Sunday March 19, we’ll post a number from 1 through 20. The challenge is to read whatever book falls under that number on your Spin List by April 30, 2023.
Here are 20 titles I have selected from my 4th list of 150 classics.

HOW MANY HAVE YOU READ?
WHICH ONE IS YOUR FAVORITE?
PLEASE SHARE YOUR OWN LIST!
I think the only one I’ve read is Mrs. Dalloway, but a lot of these look tempting. I’ll be curious to see which book you get😁

Yes, classic mysteries are greta, there are so many half forgotten gems out there

Now that I’ve discovered Lorac, I hope you get hers!

I’ve only read one of the Dashiell Hammett titles, The Maltese Falcon (which was great) but not the other you mention, just The Glass Key which was twisty but also kept me engaged. Mrs Dalloway is on my to-read wishlist, but maybe later this year. Good luck with whatever you get though!

I’ve read The Big Sleep and watched the film and was still not clear what was happening 🙂

Ooooh! 1930’s!! I’ve read the Chandler & Maltese Falcon & some books from the other crime writers but not those ones – Crofts, Lorac & Berkeley. I’ve read a short story by Poe & some of his poetry but not anything else.

And I’ll be discovering John Dickson Carr!

I didn’t much care for Mrs. Dalloway, but you might like it. However, The Click of the Gate is really good! Good luck!

Very, very short. You could read it in one sitting easy!

Good, that will compensate for Les trois mousquetaires that I just sarted reading with a student. Reading just about 50 pages a week will last us for a while, lol

The only one of your books that I’ve read is Mrs. Dalloway, but it’s a book I loved.
We have two books in common, so, just for fun, I’ve shifted my numbers so that they line up.

So many books that I have never heard of, we can never finish reading all the classics even if those are the only ones we read.
From your list, I have only read Mrs. Dalloway.
Thanks for visiting my list.

Yes, especially if we consider the classics of various countries

Mrs Dalloway is brilliant but all those mysteries look fantastic although the only one I’ve read is The Big Sleep, which put me to sleep!

Really? Is that just a pun or trully it was not engrossing and suspenseful?

Oh, I loved The Conjure-Man Dies! So much so that it won the crime category in my Book of the Year Awards in 2021. I do hope you get it, but if not I hope you get one you enjoy as much as I enjoyed it!

Well I didn’t, but anyway, I am planning to read these pretty soon

That’s a fun-looking list. I’ve read Mrs. Dalloway & several of the mysteries, but not that Crofts, which I want to. I love The Thin Man, and the movie version with William Powell and Myrna Loy is a treat.
The Big Sleep is great, but even Chandler had to admit he didn’t know who killed the chauffeur! 😉

Hilarious about Chandler! Thanks for sharing this

A really neat list! My girlfriend recently read in French Mrs. Dalloway and couldn’t stop raving about it, telling me to try it out too. I hope you enjoy these! Happy reading 😀
