This is a freebie this week, so I decided to list the last 10 books I read that have some type of connection with France – topic, nationality of the author, language.
Click on the picture to access my shelf,
where you can easily access more details on each book.
Have YOU read
or are YOU planning to read any of these?
Please leave the link to your own post,
so I can visit.
I’m not familiar with most of these, except The Martins feels very familiar for some reason. I’m going to take a closer look at it😁

I have mentioned The Martins several times, so maybe that’s why

Good idea for a Top Ten post. I’ve not read any of these sorry – Maupassant has long been on my list to read though.

Interesting! I am intrigued by Le Mystère Henri Pick and it is a definite bonus for me that it is set in Brittany. I am sad to report however that I found Bonnefoy’s Black Sugar a rather amateurish and unfocused attempt at book-writing, it was that bad for me, but I do like his themes so am still interested in picking up Octavio’s Journey.

Good to know about Black Sugar. Though it seems to have better ratings on Goodreads than Octavio’s JOurney, so not sure this author is for you.
But Foenkinos, YES, you need to try him

Well, it IS in my reading calendar. I just finished Irène Némirovsky’s “La Proie” but I just didn’t have in in my mind for any of the other challenges. LOL

I’ m amazed there is no Modiano’s book, because many of his novels are in somme part of Paris. If you wnt to know more http://lereseaumodiano.blogspot.com/

Oh sure, I have read a lot of novels by Modiano, since Rue des boutiques obscures. In fact, Paris IS the main character in most of his books.
But I specified in the intro to my post that “I decided to list the last 10 books I read”. I haven’t read any Modiano this year
