Friday Face Off: A pretty cover

Friday Face Off

The Friday Face-Off was originally created by Books by Proxy:
each Friday, bloggers showcase book covers on a weekly theme.
Visit Lynn’s Books (@LynnsBooks) for a list of upcoming themes.
Please visit also Tammy at Books, Bones & Buffy (@tammy_sparks)
thanks to whom I discovered this meme.

This week, the theme is
“So pretty – exactly what it says”

I wanted to use my most favorite over of 2021, or a pretty cover from a book read so far this year, but alas, these usually only have one edition.
So here is a pretty cover, even though it’s not in my top favorite covers:

the thirteenth tale

The Atria Books edition is my favorite cover here, it gives a nice warm ambiance with gorgeous old books. And books and stories are very important in the story.
But (pink border) I also like a lot the Ukrainian edition, which focuses on another aspect of the story (twin sisters).

Next Friday:
“Daddy Dearest – a book with a strong father role”,
but I don’t think I’ll be able to participate.
My next participation will probably be on July 8

  1. I did not expect to, but I really liked the book. I prefer the cover you showed. I really do not understand all the different covers, but there is a method to it I suppose. For example–had I seen the UK cover for Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine I’d have skipped it. The US cover–I read it and loved it. Good post!

  2. That’s the edition I have. It’s not the most exciting is it? I’ve seen a paperback by ersion which shows the shoes and lower legs of two girls – thought that was more interesting than just a pile of books.
