The Last House on Needless Street is psychological horror, so if you enjoy that, you’ll probably love it. I’m curious about Once There Were Wolves!

If it’s only psychological, that might work, not sure I have read any in this genre though – besides classics like Rebecca – I see it’s classified as such. I would just call it Gothic

I love Charlotte McConaghy. I think Migrations is the better book but I still loved Once There Were Wolves. Both books made me cry!

I’ve heart good things of Catriona Ward’s book but it isn’t something I’d read myself. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/2022-resolutions-and-goals/

I usually don’t read horror either, not sure how I ended up with a copy of it!

I didn’t know about A Most Remarkable Creature, but it looks fascinating!

Most books on birds are, aren’t they?

I did enjoy the Last House on Needless Street. For me, I would say it’s more psychological than horror. It’s certainly one of those books that compels you to read on, or at least it did with me.
Hope you get a chance to pick these up and enjoy them.
Lynn 😀

Once There Were Wolves looks good.
You introduce me to a lot of Japanese lit on this blog… and curious now about Bullet Train.

Yes, I usually do read a lot translated from the Japanese, and not just between January-March for the challenge. I have heard a lot of good things about Bullet Train

I often see lists full of books and authors that I never heard of but I’m surprised to see that on your page. We often enjoy the same kind of literature. Maybe that’s a reason you didn’t get to them? Out of your usual habit?
