I seem to be reading a lot of mystery/ psychological thrillers lately- I’ve been really enjoying them. I’ll have to check some of these out!

I have read The Good Soldier and I understood why it was admired for narrative technique, but it was a very sad, even dismal story. One felt very sorry for the lives recounted, a story of waste and despair.

Cooking in Ten Minutes would have been a revelation to my grandma in 1930’s Louisiana. It took her more than to get the fire started in her stove.
I was happy to see my library has Lost Time. I hope to read that one this year.

I know, this cooking book was really a revolutionary book at the time. I really want to read it, the style seems hilarious
