The beginning of the year is often a good idea to start new things, like dieting after bingeing on cookies and chocolate! You have probably heard and read a lot about how bad carbs are for you, but you may dread the transition from these yummy cookies to the keto diet. However, keto doesn’t mean dull recipes. Essential Keto Bread: Sweet and Savory Baked Goods to Satisfy Any Craving could be exactly the book you need.
There are not too many pictures in the book, but the ones present are enough to make you salivate and try these recipes.
After two general introductory chapters (on the keto diet, tips for successful keto baking tips, and the basic ingredients and tools you need), the recipes are grouped into five categories:
- For Breakfast (including Pancakes, Waffles)
- Sandwiches (and biscuits and buns)
- Flatbreads (including pizzas)
- Cookies (and sweet snacks)
- Cakes (and sweet loaves).
The recipes look very yummy and easy. They are very clearly presented in two pages for each. Some are original, at least to me. There’s even a Savory Naan bread recipe (page 64).
I like the fact that the recipes featured are sweet or savory. I may try first the Ham and Swiss Waffles (page 34). Or the Cheddar-Chive biscuits (page 59), as I grow a lot of chive in the garden.
Remember though, that the keto diet has a pretty high level of fat. The book helps you choose the best sources of fat for you, often cream cheese.
VERDICT: Yummy, easy, and healthy sweet and savory keto bread recipes.

I’ve never bought into the Keto diet, but since I’ve succeeded on Weight Watchers for the majority of my life, I guess I’m biased.

The important thing is to find what works for you. I don’t think the same thing can work for everybody. Do you mind sharing what made Weight Watchers a good plan for you?

The #1 thing – it taught me how to eat in a way that I knew I’d always be able to live with. No denials, just learning to eat things that are usually considered “no-nos” in moderation. I’m 62 years old. I first did WW when I was 16. It has kept me from becoming obese my WHOLE life.
