CURRENTLY READING
Don Quixote
For the 2nd part, I’m doing a read-along with Lory at The Emerald City. If you want to join us, keep an eye on her site and mine, we’ll alternate for recaps and questions. It will be a slow read, join us if you never finished the book!
If You Love Me: Serving Christ and the Church in Spirit and Truth
Wonderful book for all Christians.
Mouthful of Birds
I’m just starting this collection of short stories, part of the Man Booker International Prize longlist (#MBI2019). As you know by now, I’m part of the Shadow Panel this year.
Valerie / The Faculty of Dreams
Possibly the most awful book I have ever read in my entire life. I’m serious. This is also for #MBI2019

Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead
This is also for #MBI2019.
“One of Poland’s most imaginative and lyrical writers, Olga Tokarczuk presents us with a detective story with a twist in DRIVE YOUR PLOW OVER THE BONES OF THE DEAD”
I’m not sure I’ll be able to read the remaining three. But I will if they show up in the longlist.
Talk to Me: How Voice Computing Will Transform the Way We Live, Work, and Think
I requested this book, the content sounds really good.
CURRENT AND NEXT AUDIOBOOKS
Walden
For The Classics Club
The audio format is working well for me. I’m actually listening to a Librivox recording (volunteer readers – and YOU can become one!).
Wow, we think we invented minimalism, but this guy is absolutely the father of minimalism. “Thoreau-ly” (couldn’t resist) enjoying its ideas. Plus awesome descriptions on his natural environment.
Sang Famille
Ah ah! Estories now has this book published last year! The very latest by Bussi is not there yet, but hopefully it will eventually be.

Both booker books have astonishing covers! I wonder if it is taking into consideration by judges?)

no, and the UK covers are actually different from the US covers. Valerie is not even the UK title, it’s called The Faculty of Dreams there. For these two, I thought the cover was the nicest part of the book, lol
