Year of reading 2017 – my top 12

Year of reading 2017
Part 1
My top 12

To follow my tradition, here is part 1 of my yearly recap.
There will be a total of 3 parts:

  1. my favorites, with my usual categories, see here below

  2. my stats

  3. my fun list with titles

With 113 books read, this is my best year since I have been doing the Goodreads challenge.
My final choice is based on the quality of the book, on how it resonated with me and my own experience, and on how it stayed with me. Some of these books may actually have got only 4 out 5 Eiffel Towers at the time I read them.

  1. Thank goodness you included Charlotte’s Web- I hadn’t read any of them til I got to Charlotte. Indeed, I don’t think I’ve really heard of most of them. I have seen the cover of Sourdough around, but have no idea what it’s about. Congratulations on your big year.

  2. I still have The Sun King Conspiracy waiting in the wings for 2018. Glad you enjoyed it! Plus, I have e-copies of Nancy Mitford’s biographies of The Sun King and Madame de Pompadour. We are reading the latter one for our TuesBookTalk in January.
