neat! which narrator have you chosen? unfortunately, I could not find the last book narrated by Prebble, so I had to choose David Timson, whom I didn’t like much at all

Stephen Fry. Audible has the whole collection narrated by Stephen Fry with little forwards written by Fry. It’s amazing.

hope you enjoy the Louise Penny as much as I did.I was hoping to get an ARC of the newest one but no such luck……

so far, Louise has never disappointed me, which is remarkable for 11 books in a series read so far. I requested the book at my library

Lucky you that the library chooses these before publication. I’d have to wait quite some time before ours gets a copy

I know we are so so fortunate with public libraries in the US. and it shows in the online catalog when they have purchased a book. if they have not, they often follow your suggestion and buy it. otherwise anyway, you can borrow any book or cd or dvd for free as long as it is somewhere in the same state of Illinois. otherwise it costs $5 if they have to borrow it from another state.

$5 is pretty reasonable – a lot cheaper than buying the book yourself. We can request from out of the area libraries too though it requires the librarians to do a lot of phoning around and calling in favours. But then its free

actually, I have never done it, as most of the books I have to request because they are not in my library network are religious nonfiction (my library network has 7 huge libraries, so all the novels are there basically), and there are several large theological seminaries and universities in Illinois, so one usually has what I need.

ah yes! it’s really amazing. Actually, some people come to live in our city because of our library!

Isn’t the Madeline Project interesting? I’ve never read a book with Twitter posts and photos in it before, which makes her story just pop. I, too, want to read The Shadow Land. (I enjoyed her first book so much I’ve read it twice!)

The Madeleine Project was fantastic, and it got great reviews during the tour I organized for it.
I loved a lot The Historian. The Swan Thieves was very good too. I have not been able to start yet this one, hopefully in August!
