Arthur Morgan travels to New York in the 1950s. He encounters gilded youth, the rich and eccentric, and is invited to the White House. He succeeds in meeting the great and the good. But the repercussions of unfulfilled desires and love will resurface long after Arthur has returned to France.
Michel Déon, 97, is a very famous French author. I believe I actually only read one book by him, decades ago, so it will be interesting to reconnect, through an English translation.
I’m curious why this book is being published now given the author’s name ? Is it the first English translation or a republication?
it looks like it had never been translated into English before
