Top Ten Books
I’ve Recently Added To My TBR
TTT for November 8
(inspired by my New to the Queue posts)
I participated in this TTT last year, and of the 10 I had listed, I have only read 2! Time to focus more on my TBR, which is going to be a major emphasis for 2017.
So let’s see the titles I recently added: nonfiction, mysteries, French and Japanese literature as well.
Looks like some interesting titles for sure. I’ve heard of a few of them but haven’t read any yet.

I’ve just added two mysteries set in Paris, as a result of hearing their authors speak at the Texas Book Festival this weekend.

good move, I have read several by Cara Black, they are actually very good as audiobooks. And I have read all the books by Pryor set in Paris, really really good. He has one in Spain

The only one of these that I’ve read (twice) is The Shipping News. Proulx is different but I greatly enjoy her.
I have a couple of your other titles on my TBR list too.

a member of our potluck book club was totally raving about this book by Proulx

I did books that I added to my list to get, not that were actually in my house yet. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have them a year later. lol

same here, they are not in my house, but anyway, I rarely buy books. I get them from my library

It’s always nice to see Agatha Christie books on anyone’s TBR! She’s one of my favorite writers 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog!

it’s actually by Hannah Christie, allowed to prolong Christie’s series. I have so much enjoyed her first one, The Monogram Murders, that I really want to try this one as well

Love the way you displayed your selection – far more techie than my version! I’ve read only one of your choices which is the Shipping News. Very good and far superior to the film….

lol, I didn’t even know there was a movie.
as for the display, it’s integrated with wordpress for everyone, I am not even self-hosting. so on wordpress.com just like you use. when you go to insert a picture in your post, click on the words “create a gallery” on the far left column, and go from there, try the different possibilities

The Gentleman in Moscow and The Woman in Cabin 10 both look amazing. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Closed Casket. I didn’t love the first one but I thought this one was much better though not the same as Agatha Christie!

I think I’m very guilty of adding books and then never reading them. I read The Shipping News years ago and really liked it, but when I tried to re-read it more recently, it was a struggle to get into. I enjoyed Sophie Hannah’s first Hercule Poirot mystery and want to read the next one too. The Woman in Cabin Ten is on my list, and Europe Since 1989 might be interesting, and I spent some years in former Soviet Republics in the 1990s.

same here, that’s why I did a major cleaning recently and getting very strict now at what I add.
Yes sometimes our tastes change and rereading a book can be a tough experience.
Wow, did you ever write anything about your life in a former Soviet Republic? I would be very much interested. Though I’m French, I’m actually Russian Orthodox
