Here are
the 10 books I plan to read in August!
- I’m still trying to read a chapter a day of the first two books listed here below
- Currently reading #3, The Collector, a neat mystery set in France
- The next 4 are copies for review. I may be able to read a couple more, possibly also The Little Paris Bookshop
- The last two are audiobooks – I’m half done with The Cruelest Month. Even though I thoroughly enjoy this series, I may try something new by listening to a Japanese author – I usually read them, not listen to them. We’ll see

I love Louise Penny, as you know, and I have a copy of Cruelest Month, it was one of the first of hers I read (I read them out of order). And now that you mention it, yes, there are some old vineyards in Montmartre…

The Cruelest Month is very good, but I didn’t enjoy The Buried Giant that much.

I like this author, but I still need to see if I’m really going to listen and not read it

Ah, I can’t listen to books. My attention span dissolves.

maybe try first with some mysteries? Have you tried also Ready Player One? so so engaging! Some audiobooks also have several narrators and music background, if that would help

Yeah, I’ve never been able to just listen to things. It started with language lab years ago. I have to have something to look at, too. Just can’t do it. I only was able to read one audio book successfully, and it was done just like a radio play instead of just being read.
