Today’s challenge,

From Modern to Classic,

is hosted by Ranty Rund of a Reader

THE CHALLENGE Share one book that you believe will be considered a classic in 100 years time. Simple? I do have a few caveats, the book must have been published in or after 2005 and you need to provide two reasons for why this book will be a classic.

I could choose many books, but I will focus on this one, published in 2011:

Ready Player OneClick on the cover to read my review

My 2 reasons for this to become a classic :

  1. I believe this is the novel everyone should read almost as a reference book about our current pop and digital culture/civilization. It is also a fascinating presentation of our world to be – yes I can easily see this happening.
  2. With the outstanding work of Wil Wheaton, the narrator, I believe it could become a classic as an audio. This is I believe the best audio performance I have listened to, and I do listen to lots of audios. If you have never listened to an audiobook, that’s definitely where you should begin.

HAVE YOU LISTENED TO THIS BOOK?
WHICH BOOK DO YOU THINK
WILL BECOME A CLASSIC

  1. I’m right with you on Ready Player One. It will be considered a classic for sure! You are the second person to say this will become a classic, and the other person gave different reasons for why it will become a classic – so there are at least 4 good reasons for this book to take it’s rightful place in the literary canon. I haven’t listened to the audiobook, but now that you have spoken about how good it is, I might have to add it to my TBR!

  2. I’m not at my computer at the moment, but in the end a couple of people said RPO would be a classic – you can find them in the comments of the challenge or I’ll link to a couple in the morning Aust time. 🙂
