  1. I’ll be reading ‘Station Eleven’ sometime this year. The book was chosen as the Great Michigan Reads book for 2015/2016 and the author is making a few appearances throughout the area. I hope you enjoy it. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

  2. I’ve seen so much about ‘The Girl on the Train’ but haven’t been convinced to pick it up. What did you think? I’m looking forward to reading ‘Station Eleven’ later this year. St. John Mandel is from my part of Michigan and will be doing a speaking tour! happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday! Don’t forget to add your link to my post from this week so others can come see what you’re reading. Enjoy!

    • i need to take time to participate again more regularly. I had to DNF Station Eleven: the parts on after the catastrophe are good, but the flashbacks were boring and slowing the whole thing too much, especially as an audio book. I LOVED The Girl on the Train – I listened to it, and having different females narrators helped a lot. Really good, if you can bear unreliable narrators (I don’t mean the audio narrators, who are excellent by the way, but the narrators of the story, just as unreliable as the characters of Gone Girl). Usually I have a hard time with unreliable narrators, but it does work really well here. You should definitely try it.
