The Bout of Books read-a-thon

Day 3 of Bout of Books!

Today, the challenge is hosted by My Overstuffed Shelves: Book Pairings

Just think about the book you are reading now, or one you’ve read before,
and tell me something you think goes with it and why.

This is an easy one, but that has pursued me all along my reading of my first book for Bout of Books:

Merle Bennett and her sisters go on a walking tour on the backroads of the Dordogne.
When they come across an injured dog their idyllic summer tour takes a dark turn. Who is this dog that everyone wants so badly?
And who is this friend one sister brought along, the one without a history? Truffles, romance, wine, and intrigue in the French countryside.

Without revealing too much about this book, I think I can tell you that this is not any type of dog but a truffle dog!
Truffles can cost a few thousand dollars a pound in France, not even kidding, so dogs trained  to look for truffles are VERY precious!

Now of course while reading this dog, I kept getting this huge craving for pâté aux truffes:

This one is black truflle pâté with olive tapenade!
