Slowly but surely recovering from the passage to the new year, so here is finally my first 2014 post for this meme!

Please click on the book covers to access the Goodreads synopsis, my review, or virtual book tours.

What are you currently reading?

Anvil of GodReceived this book
for a virtual book tour.
Just started it, but very promising, on 8th century in France.
Great way of reviewing my French history
in a manner so much more lively then when I learned it decades ago,
basically through meaningless lists of dates
and tough names to remember,
even to French ears!

What did you recently finish reading?

Marie Antoinette's Head

OMG, fascinating nonfiction,
history/biography book:
you’ve heard about Marie Antoinette’s crazy hairdos?
Well, this is about the life of her hairdresser,
witness of course of all the major events around the French Revolution,
before, during, and after.
Reads like fiction.
If you want to win a copy,
be sure to follow this tour on France Book Tours early February!

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Kabbalist

Received this book
from the author
several months ago.
Forget the cover,
the plot looks very interesting,
partly on the 13th century

    • actually I found it a smart title knowing what happened to her head, but here focusing on her hair instead. It’s really the biography of the hairdresser, nothing bizarre, well apart from the crazy extravagant hairdos he created for her, lol, very well described and explained here. just left couple of comments on your blog
