I took a week off last month, in the middle of nowhere, and surprised myself not reading 1 line, just enjoying bird songs and nature in all its beauty. Hence the poor monthly statistics:
My June total is only 4 books, with a total of only 1148 pages, that is, a pathetic 38.2 pages/day.
And I listened to 1 audiobook of 15:46 hours, which gives a 30 mn/day.
I have been listening to another very long audiobook, but I am not done yet!
I’m still trying to go on reading Proust, In Search of Lost Time. I am in Le côté de Guermantes; I am very far behind the weekly schedule, so not sure I will be able to cover all of Proust in 2013.
Here are the books I read/listened to:
2 historical fiction:
- Studio Saint-Ex, by Ania Szado – with giveaway
- The Nine Fold Heaven, by Mingmei Yip – with giveaway, will be posted tomorrow!
3 non-fiction:
- Taking Root in Provence, by Anne-Marie Simons. This book will be on Tour in November, we still have a few spots available if you would like to receive a free copy and review it.
- Midnight In The Garden of Good And Evil, by John Berendt- audiobook
- Paris, I Love You, But You’re Bringing Me Down, by Rosecrans Baldwin

Plans for July
- Nothing much, except read something for Japanese Literature Reading Challenge 7.
- TRY to get less involved in reviews for book tours, and work more on some of my reading challenges
- read more of Proust!
Nice month, whoo hoo! 😉 I enjoyed Cascade and I’ve been in love with the cover since I first saw it.

yes Cascade’s cover is awesome.
by the way, how do you get the animation you used for the word June? so very cool! though i assume it’s Java and I probably couldn’t use something like that in a wordpress.com blog

Wow…you are doing pretty good with your challenges. I’ve only completed 1 so far and have 2 I haven’t even started yet! I think I need to take a break from blog tours and focus on my reading challenges otherwise I’m not going to finish some of them!
Good luck with your reading in July!

Taking a week off is always a nice thing! I keep telling myself I am going to do that, but then I remember all of the things that I need to do that require internet 🙂

We seem to have a lot of books in common! I really enjoyed Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and when I finished reading my copy (which was my grandmother’s) I realized it was SIGNED! I had no idea! Kind of a fun coincidence. Have you ever been to Savannah?

wow, how cool! yes I have been in Savannah and loved the square plazas reminding me so much of France, my native country. and we even had a very spooky time in that famous St Boniface cemetery: there was a sudden mega thunderstorm, and it was getting very late, I was afraid we would end up trapped in the cemetery as we were so close to closing time.
