Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls

I could not believe this book
was just waiting for me on a library shelf.

I know I am already reading 4 other books,
but though I was very disappointed
with his last book I had to try this one,
as several readers said
Sedaris was back to his own funny self.

So far he really is.
I was really laughing by myself
reading the first pages right there at the library.

His pages on the French doctors and dentists are so funny
and they definitely ring true!!

Syncopation

I loved so much Victor Hugo‘s poem,
Demain dès l’aube,
about his daughter,
that I was delighted to receive
this historical novel
from the author,
on Hugo’s other daughter,
who was thought to be mad.

I love the style
and the structure of the book.

Beautifully written.

  1. I’m reading The Midwife’s Confession by Diane Chamberlain which is lightweight chicklit but a friend lent it to me so I’m reading it. Just finished The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes which I enjoyed although it’s only 150 pages long. Next is the social history of London in the 18th century that I started and got distracted from by Diane Chamberlain and Julian Barnes.

  2. Just finished “Daring Greatly” by Brene Brown and “Veronika Decides to Die” by Paulo Coehlo. Currently reading “Reconstructing Amelia”. Probably will read “Manuscript Found in Accra” by Paulo Coehlo next.
