MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS BOOK

rating system

Would you like a very quick cute warm mystery to help you get into the Christmas mood, and if I specify that Bruno and the Carol Singers is set in France, would you resist any longer? Well, you have no excuse to resist, as this is a very neat story. No big plot, no big splashes of blood, just a cozy mystery that highlights what Christmas is.

This is the first time I read anything by Martin Walker. I like his main character, Bruno the gentle village cop, definitely NOT the usual French cop you meet in France… Within less than 30 pages, the author manages to set a plausible story, with real characters, stuck in problems common in our time.

The list price is only $0.99, so why not go for it on December 18?

I will definitely consider other books in the same series on Bruno.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT

Martin Walker has created a delightful, internationally acclaimed series of mysteries featuring Bruno, chief of police of the small French village of St. Denis.
“A gentle reminder to slow down and smell the grapes” says The New York Times Book Review.
In this exclusive eBook, St. Denis is experiencing its coldest winter in years—bringing the promise of snow and shared chocolats chauds in the village’s cafés—and Bruno is occupied with his Christmastime duties. From organizing carolers to playing Father Christmas for the local schoolchildren, Bruno has his hands full . . . at least until some funds raised for charity go missing. Then it’s up to Bruno to save the day (and perhaps manage a Christmas miracle) in this charming holiday installment of Walker’s best-selling series. [Goodreads]
