Yeak, BBAW is back!
Day 1 topic is:
Appreciation! There are no awards this year, but it can still be hard to navigate the huge universe of book blogging. Share with your readers some of the blogs you enjoy reading daily and why.
As of today, Google Reader tells me I’m following 303 blogs!
I have lots of favorites, but decided to highlight here some I have been following most recently. I don’t really visit them daily, but rather, thanks to Google Reader, I visit them each time they have a new post
I recently discovered Lara’s bilingual blog (French-English). She reads all kinds of international titles, and her reviews are real essays, very thorough, I really enjoy very much her analysis of books.
And I discovered another French Emma, blogging on books in English/French! Just as Lara, she reviews a variety of international titles, that she analyses in great details. She also usually adds excepts in the 2 languages. She provides her own translation if it has not been published yet.
I enjoy more and more historical fiction. There are lots of historical fiction blogs out there, but I enjoy this one in particular. They review books, but also highlight some themes, such as HF set in a particular country, or things like music in HF, etc. Their Thursday Thread meme offers interesting questions
I encourage you to visit those unique book blogs.
These 3 blogs have in common longer in-depth reviews and analysis, and it’s an encouragement for me to improve my own reviews. They are already definitely longer and more personal than they were when I started almost 2 years ago, but I can still improve, the major problem though being the lack of time.
