BOOKS PUBLISHED
IN THE FIRST YEARS OF MY LIFE CHALLENGE
January 1st 2012 – December 31st 2012
YOU WILL FIND A LINK TO JOIN
AND A LINK TO POST YOUR REVIEWS
AT THE END OF THIS POST
As a few of you followed my own Reading Challenge for 2011, I invite you and others to keep going and join it for 2012.
AND THERE WILL BE A GIVEAWAY
IF AT LEAST 20 PEOPLE FINISH SUCCESSFULLY THIS CHALLENGE!
What it is about?
Easy: pick up and read a book that was published in the first years of your life.
Just pick up 1 book per year.
If you already did the 1st five years in 2011, I encourage you to cover the next 5 years. And if you are more ambitious, I prepared 4 levels for you:
Levels:
– 3 years = Toddler
– 5 years = Kid
– 10 years = Pre-Teen
– 15 years or more = YA
You don’t need to choose your books ahead of time, you can just add them as you go along.
It’s OK to choose the same title for this Challenge and other challenges.
Please use Mr Linky if you consider joining.
If you already have some idea, you can specify
the level of the challenge you want to join, with the years and the book you choose for each of these years.
And keep using Mr Linky to link your reviews as you go along.
If you could title your Link as name of blog (title of book read), that would be cool, and of course likn directly to that review. Thanks
If you don’t have a blog, you can just use the comments with your email address if you want me to communicate with you,
or your FB profile page.
To find books published in a specific year, google: ‘Books published in… ‘, and you’ll find several links.
The one I prefer is the Goodreads’ one: ‘Most popular books published in…’ The list displays 200 books, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, for each year.
As I did the Kid level last year, I will go on with kid level also this year, which means I will cover the years: 1971-1975.
Sign up for the challenge here:
Post your reviews with this 2nd Mr Linky
Please after your name
put the year of the book you reviewed in brackets.
It is also better if you link to the post of your review,
and not just to your blog homepage.
Thanks
This sounds like an interesting challenge. I have set some reading goals for next year, but if I can, I’ll try to mix it up. I’ll have to do some research. Maybe I can attempt the toddler level.

Cool idea. I think I’ll try for toddler level this year, which means 1966 – 1968. Great crossover with the Birth Year Challenge!
I’ll come back with my official post.
Thanks for considering the European Reading Challenge! I look forward to seeing your sign up post!

Looking forward to this challenge a LOT. First time doing it for me. I am adding a little special twist of my own to it too. I have a 10 year old son, so I am not only picking MY first ten years in books for me to read, but am picking a child/YA one from those same years for him to listen to and enjoy too. 🙂 We are super excited to do this!

just curious, what do you mean you are “intrigued” by the reading challenge I host myself, “Books Published in the First Years of My Life”? Do you need some explanation, do you feel like doing it? don’t hesitate if you have any questions.
