In Constant Prayer – excerpts

I recently joined Booksneeze, a great program:  you request a book, you get it for free, you post your review, and you are allowed to request the next one for free, repeat as desired.

The first book I requested is In Constant Prayer, by Robert Benson.

It’s a very very easy read, surely different from the religious books I usually read, but it’s a good presentation of the Prayer of the Hours for those who are absolutely unfamiliar with it or wish to give it a try.

Today, I found this interesting excerpt:

“The paradox of worship is this:
we perform these acts of worship,
but they are not actually for us.
We do these things for God,
and then we are the ones who are changed.”
p.48
