GOOD BOOKS FOR YOUR WEEK-END
01/15-16/2011
Jimmy Stewart’s library – see here more pictures of private libraries
I am trying to launch a one day a week event,
– that I’ll post every Friday, hopefully,
– to give you ideas of possible books to read,
– and at the same time give me the opportunity to post a mini TBR list every week.
– I will as well try to post a neat picture related to books.
So here is for your week-end:
-Atlantic, by Simon Winchester
-Doomsday, by Connie Willis
-The Uncommon Reader, by Alan Bennett
-To Say Nothing of the Dog, by Connie Willis
-A Thousand Rooms of Dream and Fear, by Atiq Rahimi
I will not say more about each book, sometimes it’s good to judge a book by its title…
La photo ne représente pas la bibliothèque de Rod Stewart mais LA MIENNE ! oui, celle de mes rêves; qu’il a copiée en vrai, grrrr … (heureux homme !)
De quoi parle le Connie Willis : “To say nothing of the dog” ? le titre me plaît bien.
The picture do not represent Rod Stewart’s library but MINE ! Yes, the library of my dreams, and he got it in reality, grrrr …. (what a happy man !)
What is the subject of “To say nothing of the dog” / Connie Willis ? I like this tittle.

I love this idea!! It just took me a while to get to it. But, Emma!!! I’ll never be able to keep up with you!!! Wouldn’t it be great to have a private library like that? Actually I do have one room in my house, that’s a combination library/prayer space. It’s my favorite room. And someday I hope you and I can spend time in it together!!

Interesting to find “To say nothing of the Dog” on your list! My son turned me on to that book several years ago and it turned out to be one of the very best books I read that year. Highly highly recommended!
